    Well, if you're using the phone we are accepting it. Not saying I'm perfectly fine but the alternative is powering it off.

    I swear by my cheap $8 tough cases on the phone and I also use a tempered glass screen protector. That screen protector has saved my screen MANY times... It will shatter before the phone screen and save it. Peel it off and stick another one on and away you go.

    Also for you a signal booster might help at home. Something I had been debating talking to you about already. I think I have one in the attic that you simply put a small 4" antenna on the roof line and it has a wire that goes into the house to a booster. It works well in the UP on our trips to no signal land....

    I don't agree with the use of the phone equates into accepting tracking of daily activities.
    Which is why I do the best I can to shut down and circumvent trackers or apps that do. They count on people not caring or having no clue to continue status quo.

    you know, I could care less if it is listening. As you said, they are harvesting things for commercial sales. Saying something negative about someone isn't anything they can profit from. I had my Alexa chime in on something when I hadn't mentioned her name. Sometimes, it is on point, sometimes not. Just what you would anticipate from a computer. For the most part I have nothing to hide. What I don't want is public access to my accounts etc. I put VPN on my computer, so they are very limited in getting any knowledge from my location or keystrokes.

    As you go about your daily business, your cell phone communicates with cell towers. They can see where you've been no matter what app you have or don't have. The only way out is to turn it off or to airplane mode (I believe).

    Data from your phone is used for an awful lot more than just advertising.
    There's an awful long list of the buyers of the info and who those buyers are is not all that hard to find with an every day internet search engine and the right key words.
