A quick 13 rounds of black oak. There’s another log there but it’s hollowed out from ants, so in the woods it’ll stay. There are more dead oaks in the vicinity I can go after.
Good deal Eric. Beat the showers this morning. Tempted to go split some ash in my woods later. Couple showers already here
Go for it, nice temperatures to work in I lucked out when I left work this morning. All I had to contend with was a very faint drizzle. Probably get another load tomorrow.
Lol yeah. I may give the mulberry another 5 years to get larger and the locust to get drier. Oak mania man, it’s a thing
Bet most of that BL is R2B. IIRC a lot was off the ground. Wonder what the MC is? Good thing i dont live closer to you!
Blow over from a couple months ago when we had that storm roll through near Christmas time. Same road as where I got the black oak but closer to the CT River by a half mile.
Pile to be stacked is growing. All that’s left to split are these oddball pieces. Some I’ll have to cut to length, others will end up shorts, uglies and chunks.
BL and the aspen my coworker is bringing over, and the beech I’m going to be hacking up at my BIL’s house in a few weeks, plus whatever scores pop up this summer that I can’t say no to… Oh, and I still have to split and stack last year’s elm scores, which is another couple face cords. I don’t think I’m done with all this dead oak hoarding either I had this grand idea recently to do all my hoarding before the weather gets hot, but it remains to be seen if I can stick to the plan
I know, right? 6 months ago I was driving by piles of dead oak poles, turning my nose up at all of them. Now all of a sudden I'm drooling over whatever scraps were left behind. I still blame you
Should i have coughed or sneezed on you more to give the locust mania back to you??? Just make sure you dont pass that oak mania on to me PLEASE!
