Morning All. Yesterday the rain held off and we had a nice day at Mom's. We moved some firewood into the basement and then some small chores around the house. Her cat Cindy doesn't like me trimming her toenails.

Today's activities are up in the air right now. Looks like rain out there so we will see what happens as the day progresses.
Chazsbetterhalf I hope you are on the way to healing and getting home.

    Everyone have a great day.

Good morning! 28F and sunny. Much better than the snow squalls on Saturday. I got about a face cord of hickory split over the weekend and did more cutting in the wood yard. I snagged a pallet this morning and have some used lumber to pick up at church after work. I may cut a little more honey locust tonight so I can fill the rack and move it out of the way. Then I need to build another bin for shorts and uglies. Have a God day!

The asparagus supposedly like the salt and it helps keep the weeds at bay...

    Good morning, members.

Nice sunny day ahead. 30⁰ now, heading to upper 50's.

I'll bring wood to the deck. Then, deal with this-n-that.

    NHL hockey tonight. Go Bruins!

    Be safe
    Be healthy

I've been wanting to get this picture to share with y'all.
This is a cherry grandfather clock my dad and I made. We had start on it, then got busy on other projects at the shop. I finished the wood work after he got sick with lymphoma, taking chemo. He felt good enough to come down on June 19th and helped me install the clockworks. This was the last piece he ever finished. He died the next day, in a car accident. I put his hammer that he used for close to 20 yrs, in the bottom compartment, with a note. I gave it to our son, he is the 4th generation to carry the T. Jeff Veal name. 0319231923.jpg

Good morning! 34F and partly cloudy. Picked up some old used lumber from a dismantled picnic table at church last night and used some of it to finish a rack to hold shorts and uglies. Also bucked a little more honey locust. Tonight I need to make bundles and then tackle changing the alternator in the truck. Have a God day!

Morning all. Dark outside and I think it is wet. If it dries out, we may go get a load of firewood. Got a lot of paperwork done yesterday. More today if it rains.

T.Jeff Veal that is a beautiful clock you and your father created. Your son is fortunate to inherit it. Is there a fifth generation named T. Jeff Veal?
Chvymn99 I had never heard about salting the asparagus. It is hard to grow up here in our area because we have cold damp spring usually.
WinonaRail It sounds like you have recovered from your injury. You have so many projects on the go.

    Everyone have a great day.

    Good morning y'all.
    38/48 with plans for rain.

Planning to do some kind of work today.

Here's some evidence of our activities yesterday.

Sawed 20 little cedar logs into 4x4's for the goat barn project...... IMG_20230320_082908.jpg

After that, we spent some time getting the layout figured, and then dug some holes with the backhoe and set 5 posts in concrete for the south wall.

My morning read really struck me this morning so I decided to share with all of you

    Psalm 62: 1 - 2
    1 Truly my soul finds rest in God;
    my salvation comes from him.
    2 Truly he is my rock and my salvation;
he is my fortress, I will never be shaken. NIV

I'm fairly functional at this point. And regardless of the injury, there's a lot to be done! I'm not one to sit around so I try to accomplish something every day.

    WinonaRail,
<laughing > you just added to my long time answer to “How are you?”
In which my normal response has been “Pretty good so far.”.

Now I will tell people when asked,
“I’m fairly functional at this point.”

Here’s to wishing you the best.

    Lenny

Good morning, y'all. Hope y'all have a WONDERFUL WEDNESDAY. 1st night down, 46° and cloudy. Hope to split some hickory this morning, then nap time. Got a guy interested in 5-6 blocks of hickory to make handles, he's supposed to call. And a FB friend in SC, Charleston area wants a load of hickory rounds. We are going to Hilton Head Island the end of the month, we will probably meet him over there.
Let your light shine for JESUS.
