I'd say Tree cycle and then a tie between ACP and Lake Region. All 3 have since disappeared from the market. Tree Cycle and Lake Region went under. ACP(fram) now only exports. Inferno has to be todays worst, But I think they are done as well since the fire.
This one is easy....Pennington about 5 years ago...only good thing was they reimbursed me for the ton but I struggled through it then wound up giving almost a half ton away. The guy I gave it to at work said "now I know why you gave them away, they are chit!" lol UPDATE: My "freebies" are a close second!
I burned some Tree Cycle my 1st year they were a local pellet I was a newbie and didn't know any better Got a bad batch of Cheate River last year so they are on my Chit list what they look like out of the bag and the chit they left after burning
My worst pellet is now my best pellet, Was called Athens, now called MWP. They really cleaned up their act and are producing a good dependable product, third year in a row now. Hard lesson learned by them.
I'd vote for Wood Fibers Inc. Unbelievable high amounts of ash, amazingly low heat, with random screws and other leftovers thrown in for good measure.
Infernos.....still have clinkers in my yard the neighborhood kids break windows with Wood Fibers Inc.....only 3 bags if these and that was enough to need to clean my stove
Some old familiar names from old posts over on the dark side… I guess the worst I have burned are the Marth hardwoods… so ashy.
X3.... Gave them to my Father. My Dad loves all my junk pellets. For free? What's not to love. Never seen such a clinker with theWood Fibers!! Crazy..
These were a couple of the gems I found in the bags of WFI I burned last winter. I thought they were all gone but found 5 bags in the bottom of the pile from the 2011 season. Made a heck of a racket when the burn pot agitator in the 6041 was moving. I'd burn them again if I got them for free. Cheap heat is good. Free heat is better.
Worst for me has to be Inferno. Glorified mulch in my opinion. To be fair, I have not tried them in a few years now but I doubt they have gotten better.
Inferno tried to get better, But one batch would be decent, The next would be back to crud! Just could never tell or trust em!
I had a couple of bags of maine's choice, complete junk. I had to crank up the stove to get the convention blower to stay on.
