I'm keeping both my green ones(425-X485) for now. They will each have their own chore to handle! That front quik hitch is handy! Both have 3pt cat 1 hitch's too!

No mower deck for the GC1725M, I'll leave the mowing to my Simplicity broadmoor. Still have 2 Crapsmans and 2 cubs to decide what their work titles will be.

I won't compete with the age thing as I am even older than Old Smokey. I will tell anyone to work smarter, no matter what your age. You only get one back, one set of legs etc. Once you overextend them, it is very hard to recover. The effects may be with you for the rest of your life. One thing is limit shoveling. Only do a little if any and only for short duration. Every year I loose friends who just couldn't let that snow rest, or hire it removed. I bought one of those electric snow shovels. It is a small snow thrower for walk, decks etc. I haven't used it yet as my son keeps my walk and ramp clear of snow all the time. Never know when the ambulance will be needed here. Now I don't know if I can use it from a wheelchair. I can't stand up to do anything but the walker etc.

And yet, I know of people in their senior years that refuse to move somewhere there's no snow, or very little. Hard to believe it's more important than trying to stay living a few more years.

Well, if family is close by where they are living now, then that is a consideration.

I, for one, am not interested in living forever. so I have no need to move somewhere to extend my life a few years.

Cleaned both stoves yesterday. It has been a while since the last LBT or sooteater use, so I chose the sooteater this time. I have the stoves run their exhausts at the time of this treatment, so I have to take a shower afterwards. The snow that is coming will cover up the evidence soon enough.

A lot of posts here mention being on BP meds. I was on them a few years ago because one day in the doc's office mine was 134/85 and I was immediately told I had hypertension, was at risk of a stroke, etc. After a couple months of dizziness, falls, one faint/blackout, I stopped using them.
Watched this video yesterday. Now I've followed Dr Berry for years after reading his book, Lies My Doctor Told Me. I never knew just what a doc's office was supposed to be doing before they take a person's BP.

Yeah I'm going to be 69 in a few weeks and with arthritis in hands, one bad knee, balky left shoulder, surgically repaired back, nerve damage from that injury & resulting surgery, even using my snowblower leaves me stiff and in pain. Working on the cars doing oil changes, brakes, etc., it takes 20 min before I can stand up straight and walk normal instead of looking like a zombie staggering around. The other day I realized I've been making all these grunts and groans while I move around doing things like cleaning the P43, bringing in pellets, etc.
Lori even asked me the other day how many more years did I think I can handle moving bags of pellets. My fear now is between my hands and shoulder I'm gonna loose my grip while filling the hopper (which with the extension is a couple feet higher than normal) and dump a bag all over the place. Never done it in the 10 years we've had the stove, I just do everything much slower and constantly assess how my body is doing as I do anything.

My Dad warned me not to get old, said I probably wouldn't like it:pain:

Well Sam, the older ones understood a lot. I watched that video days ago and I agree with it. Just ask my hip. I would like to rid of my Amlodipine((CCB) I got rid of my beta blocker and my
ACE from 40 to 5mg a lot of people are on way more then they both need and even if they need any, since the new normal is <120/<80 the over medication leads to falls and possibly more pills, Just ask JT.

Next time I'm at the doc and he says my BP is high I'm just gonna ask "you using the AHA (subsidized by big pharma) 120/80 or the AAFP 140/90?" The last few times Lori has been in the hospital the nurses tell us they don't get concerned until it gets above 150/100 and stays there.

Sam I will never doubt a nurse. I'll just say one size doesn't fit all. A single number doesn't a world make right Merton?

Don't eat the brown snow! :p

    Or Yellow

I haven't done mine yet, I now have to climb a latter to get to the chimney. But I have done 2 suctions with the vac at the inside tee. Both time were because the stove was burning very lazy!! I guess I should have used 4" venting inside instead of 3". I'll need to fab up something to connect to the 6" liner or just brush it down from the top to the clean out tee. I don't have any neighbors up my chute now and would luv to see the flume!! :D
