Probably in the neighborhood of 3 cords, maybe a bit more. I haven’t really ever kept track, ( mostly concerned with just having it). Seems like I’ve used a fair amount more this year, but we’ve had a winter like we haven’t had for decades. Also a good amount of it has been river birch, so lesser btu’s. AND it seems like the more I have on hand the less stingy I am with it, ( no point in being chilly when there’s plenty of firewood in the backyard)

It's been very mild here this year I've used about 1-1.5 cords so far. We've only had 2 real cold fronts come through. One around Christmas and another mid-January. Other than that it's been upper 40s to mid 50s pretty consistently.

We had a couple of really cold snaps here this winter, but overall, it's been pretty mild this season. I'm probably at about 4 cords burned with 2 more in the racks and close woodshed. I may end up burning another cord into the spring to keep the heat pump from running too much. Last season we went through 7 cords of pretty high quality wood. This years supply wasn't as loaded with the heavy hitting BTU stars as last years stash.

Next years supply is a little light on high BTU wood also. This mix will be mostly red and silver maple as that was what was in the section of woods that got culled in '21 and is cued up in the drying racks for the '23 / '24 heating season. I still have some Pin Oak but most of that had laid in log form too long and got a little punky prior to CSS so it's not as good as it could have been. I have a bunch of Honey Locust girdled and standing dead to process but it still takes a year or two to get it stove worthy once CSS.

2-2.5 used here so far but not much left, my bad. Going to get going on stocking up again and hope to rearrange the stack so they are more organized plus use some of our totes that we acquired over the past year.

There's a decent chance that at this point in the year I've gone through perhaps a cord of wood and 50% of a pallet of wood bricks.
This was a pretty mild winter so I'm not yet going to totally rethink how much I need per year, but I am going to start to think about it.

I have probably used about 3 cord this year. More than what I usually use by this time during winter. A colder winter this year.

Pretty much the same here. Can't use this year as a gauge at all. Except maybe as a bare minimum. I really can't tell how exactly much I used this year because I started out with a whole bunch of a little bit of this and a little bit of that and little unorganized stashes all over the place.

100% agree. I left out two diverging pieces to this. 1st, this is the driest wood I've ever burned which I think is making a gigantic difference- now I'm up to speed on being 3 years out. 2nd we have a new heating system now that my wife works from home to take care of heating & cooling.
The abnormal winter is a confluence of those things and the dry wood / heat pump are two things I'll carry forward. The warm winters- who knows.

Looks like I will use more wood in March than I did in February for the 2nd, possibly 3rd year in a row.
