The finger port opens first, then the tip of the main.......nearest the intake, and then the other end of the main. There are three degrees difference from the finger port to the exhaust side of the main.

This right here is info that I have never heard of, never read about, and will probably only find in your build threads. Thank You for taking your time with getting us all this information, the "black art" of 2 cycle porting becomes a little clearer yet again !!

So 3 degrees after the fingers open, the exhaust side of the main is opening, (This delay in getting the mains fully open (or advance in opening the fingers) helps to push the spent gasses out the exhaust and scavenge the cylinder for a better fresh charge of fuel/air mix into the cylinder ..............) ?

    It's "Lite"
If I ever get the chance, I'm gonna do a side by side comparison with the same bar and chain... of course the 288 isn't ported... yet! ;)

So what's the deal with the 3120, Steven? Is it for sale? I read another (deleted) thread somewhere that stated the saw was built to sell... o_O

Yep. Randy was kind enough to facilitate the sale and find me a buyer. Shoot me a pm on either site and I will explain.

Thank you Dex. Just pressure of a fast paced life and high stress job taking it's toll. Hope to sort it out and get back to 100% in the coming months.
