bringing wood from the big stack down to the house. Swung the maul at a couple of red oak rounds. 1 year down, decked in the field full sun + wind, bucked for 4 months. Can smell the green coming out. Would have been nice if the ground froze up this winter.

Snowed off and on today, temps. in teens and picked up a couple more inches. The snowmobile trail had some traffic today, it's an old RR Bed going into town 22 miles away, so 10" of snow works. 19* now to single digits, more snow over next 3 days, pick up an inch or two here and there. Keep the trails and ski areas going. My son off and on works as a server in local resturaunts/pubs, when there is snow he makes money. When it's brown, the town is shutdown. '

29 and holding overnight, more or less. Just got the last load of the evening going; a mix of spruce, sugar maple and one fat split of elm up front. I brought in a nice pile of apple and yellow birch chunks/shorts for my wife to keep the stove fed with during the day tomorrow.
