Darn it, I'm jealous. Stuck at the shop w/ no hopes of getting out early today, but you are making me wish I could. Mid 60's predicted here and I have oak laying on the ground @ my honey hole.

The down side.....I gotta be on pretty good behavior when driving...with that sticker on there.
I don't have any problem with good manners when cutting on someone else's land, I won't soil our good name, rather I enjoy doing a little extra, for the sake of our good name.
If I really screwed someone over, what would it take for them to come to our site and say something nasty about the guy in a blue pickup in such and such a town, gathering pine wood ?

Not that those things are struggles, but motivation to walk to a higher standard.

I'll say the same thing when im stuck on a week of 12 hour dayshifts with no hope of daylight hours to get out.
I'll raise a glass to all of us who are shut-ins when I'm out next.

I like living vicariously through everyone else's glory days at a good cut, with fine spring weather, their dog on hand, sun coming up on a fresh new day....it gives me hope for good days ahead and memories of good days past.

I got that cup becuse of the style....the lid is solid, easy to clean, prolly the best travel cup I've had. The paint job ensures no one will steal it at work.

My grandfather used to say something is 'mickey mouse' to denote cheap, flimsy, poorly done....particularly workmanship.

No burn barrel. That was for trash.

Yeah ive been running the 400 on the last few outings and liking it. With the WCS bark box muffler it really cranks. I rotate through the bigger saws when i bring two to a cut. 261 is the go to.

    LOVE THE SONG!
Can't remember Brad, what was the BL goal this season, 20 cords? I sure hope that was my guess.

No goal. Just whatever i can scrounge to replace what ive sold and to fill the BL racks. Preferably dead/down barkless. Im at roughly five cords in the "2022-23 BL harvest" thread. Need about eight to fill the racks. I have a bunch of 1-2 year old splits and rounds at storage. Only problem is i cant access it with the truck to to soft ground. Maybe a weeks worth of frozen ground weather. I may abandon that area. Ill hit this score again on Monday...gotta live up to the thread title, right?

Another manic Monday today. Cleaned up the clean up logs and hacked a path back to the blowover closest to the highway. IMG_2723.JPG IMG_2724.JPG IMG_2726.JPG IMG_2727.JPG IMG_2728.JPG Nice tight load. Half cord plus. 400 & 261 tag teamed today. Couple pieces of red maple for good measure. IMG_2730.JPG IMG_2731.JPG IMG_2732.JPG As unloaded. Some nice splits to come from these. IMG_2733.JPG Ill continue from the back next trip. As it was left. IMG_2729.JPG
It was just another manic Monday!

Look at that target rich environment  Logs look very solid all the way through. Of course wherever there’s locust there’s a tangled mess to deal with but that’s to be expected. Way to go Brad :)

No cutting this week due to snow and site conditions. I did split the prior load yesterday. Gonna try to cut another load next week. IMG_2774.JPG
