Yesterday started off with a zip and a bang.....
I jump in the van and head to the barn to do morning feeding....Get out and notice the LF tire is really mushy looking.....YUP....IT HAS AN ISSUE

Broken belts inside and air is leaking through the sidewall....
Finish feeding the big furry beasts and get the rig back to the house.

Thought about running it to town.....Too big of a leak....Decide to jack it up and get the tire off.

Tire has steel cord showing where the belt broke..
Call the local tire shop.....They do not have any used ones.......All the rest are good shape

Call a tire shop over the hill in the big city about 20 miles.

Guy only sells used and always has good tires at great prices.
Toss the tire/wheel in the Burb and we head for the tire shop......

215/75X15 Not real popular but the guys had several singles to choose from.....

Get that wrapped up and head home.....Tire and wheel back on.....MUCH BETTER....

Also...we have been waiting for a transmission control module for the Avalanche ...It was due to come in the mail about noon or so....

Last Tuesday we were at the Daughters Salon for a visit and spent a few hours....Came out to go home and the rig went into limp mode....The TCM had died......"Lost communication " CODE U0101
Had to get the beast towed home....

This happened before about 10 months ago...but it happened here in the drive at home.....
Replaced the module with a "Remanufactured one"

The reman jobs are just used parts that are tested, cleaned up and then programed according to the VIN# of your rig.

So the reman died the same way as the original....Arrrrrgh.

The replacement Module was in the mail box when we got back with the tire for the van....

Swapped out the module on the AVY and all was good to go again.....

    Busy day.......
The kids are on vacation in Belize and we need to pick them up at the airport Monday morning....Need the van with all the seats to carry all the troops plus their luggage .....Glad the tire thing happened yesterday and not Monday morning...

    And so it goes.....Always something.....

Sadly their does not seem to be a way to get a spanky new OEM module for the Avy.....

    Ah well...such is life

My wife has been looking for a puppers for a bit now. Well we got the word that this pup was available a few weeks ago. His name is Brodie and he's a border collie(DNA came back 100% so I guess he's a pure bred??). He was picked up on the streets of Kentucky by animal control and brought to a rescue. Their rescues are full, so a local rescue brought him up to Connecticut.

We picked him up friday as a trial to see if he fits in with the family. We weren't sure at first, But decided last night we would make it official and went ahead and began the adoption process! Super friendly, Barely ever barks. Is fully house and crate trained. Has happy feet when he's excited. Took to us quickly and luv's to snuggle on the couch or bed with us! Luvs to run and play(zoomies are a favorite thing for him)!! But also is rather quite for a pup less than 2 years old. He'll be learning new tricks as he only knows sit right now. Working on the hand shake next. Luvs treats, so training is pretty easy with food motivation!

So far the biggest issue is he likes to chase the kittie's and wants to play. Of coarse they think "NOT" on that deal!! Also chewing, Luv's the shoes and slippers as the wife found out! :D

So please welcome our new pup Brodie to the family! My wife will be taking better pic's shortly!! :)

Congrats to both jtakeman and Birddog91 for adding to your family. Both are cute pups that you have been kind enough to give a new chance in life.

    X2! Congrats on both.

Jay, as you may remember, my dog Socks was a border, and there isn't a smarter dog on the planet. Yes, they like to keep active....fetch was her favorite. Teaching him new tricks will be no problem.
