Eh, I'm not impressed with the 241. Neighbor has one, got it new a couple years ago. My old 029S was as quick as cutting the same Austrian pine as that new 241. I used both saws, swapping for the other when one ran out of gas.

As quick as a 43 cc saw.

Don’t know what happened to my comment but that’s what I said, 43 cc pro saw much lighter and nimbler than the 029 super at close to equal cut speeds as a 57cc ranch saw sounds fairly impressive to me.

I love a "what saw should I get" thread. I'm amazed at the restraint on this one. Was expecting to see this one go to 595's and 881's by page 5! I love this site, you all are actually trying to help someone. Respect!

NYS DOT bought 'em (290's) by the dozen. The prison authority bought FS55's for inmates doing road side trimming. Didn't need or want anything more than the minimum as decisions in those organizations are made via spreadsheet by someone who will never use the tool.

I just read through this entire thread. I have more numbers going around in my head than a math book!

I have nothing else to offer than what has already been said. For many things Im not brand loyal. I look for the right toy, err tool at a price Im comfortable with. Also customer service is BIG factor. That's how I landed on eccho 590 as my first saw. Echo dealer took time and talked to me. Stihl guy was a rear end of a donkey. I won't buy anything from that place.
