We checked on this job the afternoon we dropped the huge post oak...
    Small oak take down
She had 2 pecan trees and I think a Black Locust to take down. Had a day off after nite shift, so we got the man lift rented and went to work.
    1st pecan tree 0215230927.jpg
    Take it from the top... 31864.jpeg 31866.jpeg 31868.jpeg 31870.jpeg 31857.jpeg 31858.jpeg
    Now the trunk cut... 31872.jpeg
No problems so far. After the trunk was on the ground, went to cut left hand knot off. Something was in there. Dulled chain...:headbang:...put on a spare chain, moved lift and started on 2nd tree...

Looks good Jeff, stay safe. Much call for pecan as a smoking wood in your area?

    2nd tree...
Had room beside the house to drop a couple whole limbs... 31874.jpeg
These were towards the road... 31876.jpeg It had a big green briar vine that went almost to the top... 31878.jpeg
    Almost done.
31853.jpeg Then things got interesting. I had noticed the front yard was getting soft, as we loaded the 1st tree. So I went across the ditch a couple times, getting the logs from the 2nd tree to finish load...then the bottom fell out...:picard::picard: 31851.jpeg
The head of the street dept brought their tractor over and pulled me out.
Didn't take long for the water to fill up the ditch... 0215231812.jpg
We did get a good load home... 0215231810.jpg 0215231811.jpg
Pecan we have left to get when it dries out. 0215231811a.jpg
We still have the other tree to take down and the neighbor gave us the OK to take 3 or 4 more like it in the hedge row. And another neighbor stopped by and want us to look at 2 trees she has...

It has to be a big job. I notice in one picture that you rented pot-a-potties.

That tractor looked to be in a precarious position! Glad you were able to get it out!

No sir, we piled it in the ditch above where the tractor was stuck, we also got the knotty piece of trunk cut into about 3 pieces. The city dept has already hauled it off...:thumbs:
