I found this out off-roading with our Jeep a bunch of years ago. We wheeled with guy who had a much more capable rig and he couldn't make it over obstacles we could as the tires wouldn't grip for chit. They were 35" Grabbers. We had Mickey Thompson MTZ's. But.. I've been running Goodyear Duratrac's on my truck for many years (several sets) and they do great. Especially in the snow. I've yet to see any dry rot on any sets I've been through.
Sorry, but I can't help laughing!! Here it is, you..... Gasifier ....asking about and admitting you have been considering getting some!! My memory is not the best any longer, but I do remember when you referred to the horses as the "spoiled ones" and seemed to be a bit reluctant to give up space in the garage/barn for them........then, you added chickens not so long afterwards!!!!! Whatever, we did have fun with it back then! Actually, 99 lbs is making comments about goats here too.
Fence in any area overgrown with brush, weeds, vines etc and put in the goats. They will clear it out for you. Nice way to keep any area trimmed up.
Yeah, unfortunately they’re both gone. Oliver! just this past summer, I wrote about it in the hiking thread.
It is super nice out today. T-shirt weather even. Trying to wrap up work and get out there. I decided to build another loft in the barn for more storage. The roof system isn't rated for much so it will only be 4' deep off the wall, but 40' long so it will hold a fair amount of stuff. I need a place for hunting gear (archery targets, decoys, blinds, etc) and this should work out nicely. None of that stuff weighs much. Back to Menard's tonight to give them some more $$$.
Yes I am still dodging those bullets.. 1 a black faced Angus, that was halter trained and a pet I said no the wife said Oh, he’s cute. She got the point when I said his name was T-bone. goats are adorable. Small sheep are cute. Pigs named bacon Still discussing alpacas and llamas
So is it pronounced men- ards or Maynard’s? We don’t have them but I’ve heard it pronounced Maynard’s.
And just so you poor folk that don't have a Menards in your area know, I was making a joke about their theme song...that is played on their speaker system about every ten minutes (minimum!) I do love me some Menards though...that, the grocery store, and Rural King is about all I'd ever need! Menards ruined me for bLowes and Home Despot though...hate to go in either one anymore. Here's one for yooperdave too....
Up here in the woods we don’t have a rural king either. Tractor supply, Home cheapo blowes. Paris farmers union for the rich folks. Mardens for the average scratch and dent shoppers. Sometimes they have good stuff but you need to shop it religiously, me I go about once every 10 years.
Phew! Power came back on after a couple hours! Just 15 minutes after generator dug out and thawed under patio heater and started up, candles lit, fire started, lantern got new mantle, and me bundled up, and, and...... Far out, he had a new generator from work with him, like +/- 3750, about the same as our old one, it could not handle the pellet stove
