Had an inquiry from a wood customer looking for a slab for a table top. I have a couple 3-4" thick stump cutoffs of honey locust and sugar maple. Roughly 24" diameter. Any idea what i should quote him? The maple has a bit of punk and borer holes.
From my understanding the maple could undergo a epoxy treatment and be perfectly fine... with character... I think the HL is too far gone IMO...
Current customer? Free to a good customer? Chances are it would end up in the nugget bin anyway. Throw the guy a bone and keep him happy , happy customer will remember this and be back for more = maybe?
I'd have him make you an offer. If you need the dollar amt, hop on fbmp and looks for similar. I've seen 'em on there, especially smaller for wedding table decorations. The only problem is, just because they're asking $xx, doesn't mean they are selling at that.
If he only wants one or two they should be a gift , Good chance you will be paid back three fold in one way or another.
BuZZsaw I sell those I cut mine on the mill so they are flat and ready to go usually I get 20.00 each for one that size 35.00 for a locust that size the smaller walkway cookies 2.50 each JB
Free to good/ current customer (first time, or 1 or 2 total) $1.00/ bd ft Nominal $20 each Those would be my thoughts
