Hoping anyone in the surrounding area is ok. Reading some pretty disturbing stuff. Polyvinylchloride, 4 tankers worth has been burned off by 'authorities' as it is nearly impossible to deal with in 'uncured' form. Other nasties were on the train as well. Already checked my watershed, we should be OK. A lot of people have been breathing some nasty stuff up there. Unsure of danger to those whom the cloud went over, but basically the Pittsburgh area.
Pretty messed up for sure. Problem is the health ramifications won't present themselves for a long time. Feeling really bad for the victims of this.
Saw on the local news lat night that people are having pets and livestock dropping over left and right. EP mayor said he was going to hold the RR's "feet to the fire"...hope he does/can, but I have a feeling he'll be fighting "big gubermint" on this one...they might end up handing some money out, that's fine for lost assets in livestock, but doesn't fix the local water supply, or mean much when you end up with cancer out of it
Yup...only40 miles east to Pittsburgh...and I heard some of these fumes are extremely nasty, and can carry for a really long distance, not good, not good at all!
Yes, not much coverage on this anywhere, but wait, plenty of coverage of UFOs, wait.......what? Oh I get it now...... Don't look at the man behind the curtain. That area has had great fertile soil..... and the river where all the fish are floating dead is the biggest tributary of the Mississippi river. I hope everyone stays safe, even east with the jet stream. So very much going on lately, must be a coincidence
This is not another train derailment? That last one was in Ohio. Correct? I see now. Same one. Scary stuff. When was that picture taken in original post? East Palestine Train Derailment: Evacuation order lifted as officials say air and water samples show it's safe
Last report I saw was that it is in the Ohio river and traveling... And that folks within a 100mi radius could be affected. Man, hoping for the best here but it's not looking good.
This disaster is 100X worst than the mainstream media is not reporting. Paint is peeling off of cars 10 miles away. C'mon, man !!!! If I was downwind of this I'd be getting out of dodge Like I would a hurricane bearing down. Sadly I'm not surprised reporters are being arrested for trying to actually report what is going on given the incompetence of our current government(s). Too many white people in construction is apparently more important than an environmental disaster. Nothing to see here. Carry on.
where have you seen people reporting paint peeling off cars? I live less than a hour away and have not heard this at all yet.. The worst part is the water contamination. If paint was peeling off cars, I think the dairy farmers down there would be in the news with losing cattle. As of now I've only heard about some chickens and some foxes. The foxes died from stress from what it sounds like though. Chickens, probably air.
Please do not rely on 'the news' as your primary source of information. I too have my doubts about the paint thing. If it is true, I would not expect to see it in mainstream media, anyways. Please do report back with any pertinent info you may come across.
This is the type of TEOTWAWKI I try to make preparations for… a camper driven up wind from this is well worth it for a bugout. we live 35 miles down wind from a nuclear power plant. In the primary evacuation zone. We do have KCL tablets for everyone. in the last 5 years, this is the third such accident I’ve been way to close to for comfort.
