I really do appreciate the enthusiasm, but no rush here. They neighbors include a classmate of my 2nd grade son. I lent the dad my isocore and gave home some splitting and stacking basics. I picked up another load today but missed the car hoarding, full trunk money shot. But grabbed a shot after I unloaded… oops site doesn’t seem to like the panarama I took of the pile in back. The next door neighbors are planning on having some work done this winter, on a huge American elm that partially dangles over our roof. The long branch wood would split relatively easy, for elm wood I think. I won’t need to shuttle in the car though, it couldn’t be closer to home.
That seems to have worked. The latest car hoarding is the pile farthest to the right. There is some partially processed red oak next to it that I was saving for cooler, less mosquitoy weather.
It was a… beautiful day for a neighbor hoard. A beautiful day for a neighbor hoard. A beautiful day for a neighbor hoard. Will you be mine? Won’t you be mine? WON’T YOU BE MY MAPLE!?!
5/5 loads for the neighbor hoard. I’ll have some splitting and stacking to go yet, but hopefully this is year 1.5 material
I forgot the obligatory trunk shot, but this was a car hoard from my daughter’s classmate’s house in the neighborhood. I had been walking by the rounds for a couple years now. This maple was softer than soft. I was going to leave it uncovered for a bit to wash off some mud, but it will be mulch if I don’t get it covered soon.
Boss trimmed a hard maple hanging over one of the buildings and asked if I wanted the wood. I took about half. I'll get the rest later. Sent from my moto z3 using Tapatalk
