Worked Thursday morning mostly by myself, as Miz Carol was at our church cleaning up. She got there about 30 minutes before I was done for the day. Made good progress, we should have it done this morning. Then time to move on to another shed. 0126231305.jpg

Had another good day on the woodyard. Miz Carol was able to help, so we got this 1 cord finished with oak 31210.jpeg
Cleaned up the area, moved splitter to a 1 1/2 cord shed, and brought a few cherry logs over. Of course, the big log had some small fence wire that I fpund with the MS180. Dinged a couple teeth. 0127231112.jpg
Got the last row finished. 1/2 cord 0127231306.jpg
We will start with 16" oak on the other side in the morning.

Started on the 1 cord shed next to the cherry yesterday morning. Moved aboit a cords worth of logs to the splitter and bucked about 3 to 16" length. 0128230938_HDR.jpg
Had to fire up the splitter to make room. Split what was bucked, threw it in shed. My hunny got there after she finished cleaning the church. Stacked almost a row, then bucked a few more. 0128231715.jpg
Got started on the last row, before we had to stop. These logs came from the Plantation, stacked them in June. Bark is coming off, so taking extra time to clean the splits up. Got these rounds left to process. Maybe that will finish the row. 0128231715a.jpg

Got a call from a customer wanting another load of 16" splits. She said green was fine, as it will be for next year, at least. Glad to get a few folks thinking ahead.
After work, I pulled 2 of the oak stems up to the woodyard. One was 52', the other 40', that was fun turning them around with the grapple. 0201232000_HDR.jpg 0201232001_HDR.jpg

    92' of 16" splits... 0201232117_HDR.jpg
Took about an hour to turn the rounds into splits... 0201232219_HDR.jpg
Hope to deliver tomorrow or Saturday morning.

Nice when you get the occasional customer who does that. Saves you from stacking it...at home at least.

Thanks, John. I got the loader guy to set us 3 to the side, when they cut our pine timber in Dec. They cut a little hardwood that was mixed in. I didn't think it all had to go to the pulp mill.

That pile made the perfect load, Miz Carol said we had 5 pieces left, we threw them on top... 0203230935_HDR.jpg
We got it stacked in her rack, she said she really liked this picture... 0203231054.jpg
The oak we brought is on the right and center sections. The left side is 2 yr old, 18" hickory/maple we brought her a couple months ago. She is a widow and her mom, 94 yrs old lives with her.

We have been working some down here, just posting mostly in the Plantation firewood production thread.
Was splitting some yesterday, got a text that a yard we cut was dry enough to get up more leaves. Loaded equipment for that job, got there about 3:00, got back home about 6, and loaded some wood, carried it to friend, her husband has been diagnosed with throat cancer. They had 2 small stacks, he said he couldn't hold out to cut much. He's waiting on surgery. Just felt lead to do something for them. 0220231834.jpg
