Made it out for a few hours Monday morning and got a load of firewood. Took down a nice walnut today. Should sleep well tonight:yes: Gonna go walk around in the morning and see if I can find any shed antlers! EB3AE673-8A5F-4136-A4AB-0F8C486A46EB.jpeg 5144DF7F-2253-4445-BCB6-2CD18203E5EF.jpeg

I really like the dump truck. Kinda watching for something similar but probably won’t be that nice given my budget

Thanks Sandhillbilly ! I feel pretty lucky to have found it. It came with a snow plow that the original owner had used the first two or three winters of its life. The guy I bought it from said he had never put. On and that the guy he bought it from said he had never used it either! My 9 year old really wants me to use it, but I hate to beat up on the front end of the truck or have it turn into a rust bucket like everything else it’s age, so I think I’ll continue the trend of the previous two owners:rofl:

Enjoying the tree work. We’ll see where it goes! I’m finding you just have to answer the phone to get work. So many customers say they can’t get people to come look at the job, can’t get them to answer the phone, or they don’t show up altogether. My kind of competition!

Brother and I finished a white oak removal the other day. Also took large limbs off another white oak to the right of the driveway. Large limbs over garage, homeowners fence, neighbors fence, and driveway. Lots of rigging! Lots of firewood! Homeowner just wanted the lightning struck white oak trimmed instead of removed.....go figure:rofl:  7F364CFE-9323-436C-BD3E-D24E5702DFC9.jpeg B5BEEAF4-8FAE-474B-8E05-5D3B7FC2C0D6.jpeg A7297B0F-4F7A-4387-9EAD-E81F2C879C84.jpeg 1006E172-0E6C-4291-BDEA-7CB9255A7FC9.jpeg 85E0F025-0C25-47B4-8D33-3EB6B5EE378F.jpeg 876DD30E-3068-401B-A1C2-85EC96B10AF0.jpeg B201848A-5B13-4051-B2F2-1F59FBF10283.jpeg 87CA37EC-B761-4390-890C-C3A8CA238273.jpeg D53CC8CD-6D09-4771-A684-D99C35680CB6.jpeg

Most challenging tree for me on my own. When I work with my buddy, we utilize cranes, bucket trucks, and climbing, depending on the removal. Lot of the same principles apply with all three removal methods, but definitely more to consider to remain safe when climbing and rigging everything down. The lightning struck tree doesn’t have the greatest top in it for rigging, so I had to rig some of its wood down off of the other tree. Ended up working out well:yes:

Normally would have had the homeowner move it, but his kid had the rear end out of it. The limbs above it were swung forward to the tree further down the drive. Pretty sharp car with less than 50k miles that was previously owned by some retired fella.....the pampered portion of its life has officially ended:(

I hope your saws didn't find any of the metal in that tree. Blue stains!

I was bracing myself with each cut for hitting metal, but never did! Had to have used up all my luck on that one:rofl:

Nice job on the take down. No way you'd every catch me up in a tree like that, tied off or not.

I’m terrible with pics on my phone but brother got a few today. Woke up to -1 degrees here. Figured we keep the schedule and go do some tree work. Took down two oaks leaning heavily toward a house and a large lead of another oak leaning towards the house. Warmed up nicely once we started working:shiver: Highlighted stuff removed. 189AD769-E103-4384-9952-ADDF97E893EA.jpeg After pic. 25B7C5E1-BC26-46F0-BD7B-A2D945472E50.jpeg Gotta go back for a spindly cherry lead leaning towards side of house to finish the job. Homeowner wanted to keep the firewood. We chipped the rest. Pretty sunset to cap things off!
