Makes you want to pull the chair just a little closer to the stove, no?

I've burned all the hedge you gave me. Could use some now with below zero but the white oak is doing fine.

Two more days of freezing rain and sleet. Highs in the 20’s. Then back to the 50’s this weekend.

18/68. Red oak and hickory in the Lopi

Red oak in the Buckstove 91 upstairs and red oak in the Fire Chief in the basement. All hands on deck! I usually don’t run the Fire Chief unless it gets below 20.

11 and cold north wind blowing. Hasn't been this cold in several weeks.

Haven't been out to the boiler yet but it is cycling....I can see a little steam and mirage coming from the stack so it must still have something in there.

Is it me or do others notice that towards the end of the winter when the days start to get longer the coldest part of the winter sets in ?

54 rainy and I’m happy to be on the right side of the arctic blast. There had been freezing rain and snow in the forecast but now it’s gone which could mean blizzard’s coming.

The sounds a truck makes at -27 is pretty horrible.

32 currently, forecasted to hit 21 by dawn. I’m burning down an elm and maple coal bed with some nice dry spruce, vintage 2020.

Currently 9 degrees it sure is weird to have temperatures dropping when suns out

for you southerners a quick tip on cold..
Check your windshield washer fluid, a lot of it might not be rated for real cold maybe 0 to 10 below

don’t want any one getting hurt or car accident

Don't worry. Most of the idiots around here use washer fluid rated to +32f.
