I don't know. I do know that I would look at the thermometer before I left for work (2000's) with it reading -40 a number of times. I think the coldest I saw it was -46.

Now remember, at that time I was living at the bottom of a river valley. It was not unusual to make the 1/2 mile drive out of the valley and have 5 to10 degree temperature difference on the vehicle's thermometer!

I know northern Minnesota is blessed with cold temps also.......but even worse!

-9 now; heading for just a few more overnight. Inside temp is 72

    LOL you say it's fine.

We've been negative overnight on a few days, and not out of - temps for a few days recently. Tonight is -11, thankful it's not windy! The Blob snow drifts are back worse than previously. Must be a zillions tons of packed snow in the back yard, crazy!

-11° out this am. 69° in the back hall, and the thermostat only set at 68°. That's a win.

Honey locust and ash in the quadrafire, doing it's thing.

Just reloaded with more HL and ash.

Real snot freezer here this morning. Was 0 degrees exactly when I got up at 5:30. Supposed to get up into the teens so not too bad today. Guessers are saying back above freezing next week I guess.

Was 36 this AM @ reload. 3 splits of rock oak went in the firebox. 74 inside temp. The big chill this weekend is coming Friday night. Guessers are saying 9 for a low.

After a indoor temp of 64 yesterday morning, I gave the furnace a little extra love with last night's load! :D
