33 right now. going up to 40 today. I am almost out of split dry ash and maple. Everything else I have is red and white oak, black locust and black birch. Right now I am burning the dry oaks, with a little ash mixed in. I hate to burn my higher btu woods when it's not really cold, but it's all I have seasoned for this year.
5/67 With the lazy attempt at snowfall the last two days here, enough has accumulated where I need to plow now. Sigh, guess it was too good to be true.
26°/74° with the Drolet choo-chooing on a hickory and beech split in the back, oak chunks in the front.
36/65 a split of tulip poplar and a split of apple on the bottom and a split of ash on top to get things going
34/ warming house up with mixed oak. Pricey106 , just burn it man. There's more wood to hoard out there.
Not for where you live but i don't live there any more. Besides, this winter has been more like November. When it has been 30's or 40's every day, 0 degrees will be frigid.
I was loving working on Saturdays for straight OT with the mild weather. It looks like that has come to an end.
A bit cooler here now, sitting at -24 C/-11 F for the time being. Oil furnace and wood stove tag team because I have a wife.
With a lack of shoulder season wood here too, I’m burning prime oak. I’m going to start calling it Johnny Cash season. 53/70. Burning oak…. one piece at a time.
45 now, heading towards freezing overnight. I had a small fire this morning but let it go out so I could clean out the ash. Just got the stove rolling again with more sugar maple and elm.
