    Looking good Stinny.
I always liked contemplating where I'll be in life when that 3rd year stack is going into the stove - aside from being older;)
when gazing at my stack of white oak from this past weekend I realized the mortgage will be gone around the time I light the stove. that'll be a good first fire:fire:

Once you are 3 years ahead, you'll never want to go back. Geeze, I get antsy if I'm less that 6 years! But that is just me. Besides, I have to take my age into consideration and also my physical condition. I simply do not know how much longer I can continue cutting, so, I try to stay ahead and still help out some neighbors or someone that is down on their luck. I haven't sold any wood for 2 years now and that is okay with me.

Giz was inside where it was cooler and quieter. She doesn't like noisy gear at all. Can't blame her.

That's a cool looking heap, Stinny. It even appears to be, well, kinda planned and symmetrical. Either way - a TON of splits! Very nice.

Nice work, and nice looking splits. Being ahead (any amount of years) is a great feeling.

I always appreciate all you guys making comments on my painfully slow efforts. I really enjoy watching all your work too... :axe:  While I know my little pile of splits here sure isn't much in the scheme of things, I'll admit it feels perty good to be at this stage of my 3 yr plan. Last year, about this time, I had 5 trees worth of logs in a pile that my son and I took in the spring of 13, had 3 cords of "ready to burn" (yeah right... :picard:) maple and oak dumped in a pile... and no woodshed. I think I'll burn no more than 3 cords each year. We'll see. Last year was a bust as that "ready to burn" stuff I bought... wasn't.

I've said it many times here. This FHC forum has completely changed my enjoyment of the firewood experience. Much more gooder now... :fire:

Right where I want to be.
You've also learned proper verbiage for describing said experience.

Almost looks like you had the idea of doing some sort of a Holz (holtz?), but changed your mind.
