Nice start NYCountry, looks a bit seasoned already, good little shed A warm welcome to the FHC - guys with smart phones will help you on picture rotation
I cut it and split it in April , the mm reads 17% so the locust maple is ready to go in the jotul. Should be getting some more wood next week for next year.
Moisture readings on freshly re-split pieces right? Everyone is here to help out - you have experience with your Jotul or first season? Most everyone here want's the driest wood they can achieve in their stove - even if that means storing 8years out(insanity cord hoarding) - we welcome everyone trying to heat or supplement their heat. We don't like making steam in our stoves
Yes sir re-splits. I have a little experience with the jotul. I'm putting some blowers on it in a few weeks. I got plenty of pine kindling that's been dried for 2 years from sandy. I'm trying to get ahead. I have about 7 cords right now and I'm getting another 10 cords in 2 weeks so I'm getting there. I rather burn wood then pay the oil man. My friends spent around $4,000+ last year on oil I only spent $800 so I'm trying to lower it this year. Showed the wife how to run the stove so I should be good this year.
Welcome to FHC NyCountry! Looks like you've got it going on. Nice wood shed, and nice stack you've got. Helpers are always nice.
I love it. It's about 3 seconds. It's tough with the knotty stuff but still no complaints. I had it for 3 years and no problems.
Welcome NYCountry. And the answer is always take the picture with the phone's thumb button on the right. Remember that and life is simple. I hope your shed roof can handle a wet snow load. It definitely is good for summer rain but I think it might be a little weak with 2' of wet snow on it. I certainly don't want you out there in February after a rain trying to dig out your wood under a collapsed roof with 2' of frozen solid snow on top.
