Had a few questions as to what I've seen posted in forums. What is shoulder season? And what is CSS??
CSS, cut split stacked shoulder season; early-fall and late spring burning. Short fires using not so great wood
CSS= Cut,Split,Stacked. Shoulder season is the beginning and end of the burning season when longer burns are not needed. Welcome to the forum tony2truck.
SS wood isn't always less than desirable wood, but seems wasteful to me anymore to use the good stuff when I can use lesser stuff. Not everyone has or wants that option though.
I'm working on making a reference page for all of this stuff to catch people up in a hurry. Just don't ever say beer unless you want your thread hijacked.
Welcome to the FHC Tony. Lots of great down to earth folks here. Of course, most of us aren't quite right... but that's another story... ...it involves chainsaws and firewood...
What a coincidence. I fired up the woodstove about an hour ago and just cracked open a cold one. Oh, and welcome to the forum Tony.
Tony, that is a great question and I'm sure there are probably others who have wondered but not yet asked. Welcome to the forum.
The weatherman here said it was snowing in areas of Montana... It felt hotter than hatties here today extra steamy 94. soaked my shirt going to get the mail, jumped in the pool 6 times at least getting the grass cut some wood stacked cleaning/oil changes on equipment. Sitting still I was sweating
We are having our warmest weather this season. Just when the kids are back in school. No AC in Maine schools! Welcome Tony, What part of the country are you from. Pics of wood stacks, chain saws, stoves, and stories of your adventures are always welcomed. If you have some four footed friends, bring them along too. Just keep an eye on them around Grizzly Adams, he 'll eat anything!
