My brother in law is getting a pole barn built in the next few months and he had a company come in and drop 37 trees. Originally I had offered to take the majority of them down except for a few wicked leaners over the powerlines but the company he had called for an estimate gave him a great price to drop them all and chip the brush so he went that route. It's a mix of mostly red/white oak and a few big maples. Yesterday he bucked and loaded one trailers worth and today we bucked and hauled two more loads. I told him I'd haul it with my duramax but he insisted on using his f150 ecoboost. That thing is definitely impressive for a 6cyl.

This morning I cleared a spot for the new stuff coming. I needed to get the old pile of junk wood moved and leveled off anyways. There's still probably 2.5 more trailer loads there that we'll tackle next weekend. All in all it was a good day. Except for that part in the beginning where I smoked my freshly sharpened chain on a brick I didn't see :headbang::(.

Nice. I see I’m not the only one with mud.
Question: pic #4. Are you pushing that pile higher with a bucket or does your dump trailer get them up that high by itself?

Yep he said I can have it all. He's got a wood stove that he only uses on occasion and he jokes that he knows where to get firewood if he needs it haha.

Yea it's been a wet winter so far. I'm glad we haven't gotten any snow yet though. And yep, that's three loads pushed into a big pile. After each dump I pushed it as high as I could with the tractor.

That's even a first gen Ecoboost. They make even more power in the 2017+.

Nice pile though. That will make a lot of splits.

Now that's a score! How much do ya reckon it will yield?

Thanks for the clarification. My poor dump trailer was having performance anxiety for a little while there. LOL

    x2 on the question above.
Nice haul, it sounds like a good bit of wood.
In addition to the above question, how many cord years does that get you?
Do you have a place to put those splits without too many wood pile musical chairs (musical stacks?)

    I'm guessing around 5-6 cord

I'm guessing 5-6cord. My shed holds around 13 cord split and I have a few staging piles of splits that will eventually make their way to the shed. This new stuff will be split into piles then bake in the sun for a few months.

Thankfully just up the road in your town

His piles put all of the FHC's piles to shame!  He'll have your "little" score made into splits in a couple hours.

Sweet. But looking at those stumps makes me wonder about the company that did the work felling the trees.
