So it is kind of understood that Echo is the Dodge/Ram of the chainsaw world. The other 2 are obviously Ford and Chevy, but which one is Ford and which is Chevy and why?

You might as well have asked which mix oil is best.

They all break, they all rust, they all have pros and cons. I have owned and run them all.

That being said, Ford is Stihl, flame suit on!

Is this thread my fault from a tongue in cheek comment on the leaking bar oil thread?

That wasn't a comment based on Echo quality I assure you. I have have had many echo products and currently have three and they have all been excellent running and reliable.

As to your whos who question about Stihl and Husqvarna, I'll be an observer  as I like most brands of saws if they perform decent.

I’ve thought about starting a similar thread before.
Years ago a gun magazine (shooting times, i think) did a similar poll. Ford/chevy, Remington/Winchester. If I recall correctly it seemed Ford guys preferred Remington and Winchesters for the Chevy crowd.

right now there’s a Ford, a chevy, and company owned dodge sitting in my driveway.

I'm the opposite then. I'd equate Remington to Chevy, and Winchester to Ford.

I'd rather pay for a heated tailgate than a dented one due to poor engineering. Screenshot_20230121-094508-754.png
