I'd gladly make an offer. Say $20, only because it's already cut. Probably the best deal they'll get.

There was an empty lot in town that had a big pile of ash rounds on it for a year or two...looked like it was never touched. I had asked around who might own it, never found out...then I seen an add on FBMP for this pile for $50 (I recognized it right away since I had been watching to see if anyone did anything with it before it was rotten) I messaged the guy and said I won't pay $50, but I will clean it up for free (they were selling the lot) never heard anything, but it was soon after that it I seen the ad said "sold"...I guess it was worth $50 to someone, not me, too much free BTU's laying around!

I see that stuff on CL from time to time. Come on people, burn it yourself, give it to a friend, or put it out by the road for someone else!

I've seen it big time here. A friend needed a used car for a 16 yr old new driver. Best deal they could find 2 months ago was a 99 Camry v6, with 177k, for 7k from a dealer loaded. But waaaaaaaaaaaayyyyyy overpriced. I found an 04 Pontiac vibe ( rebranded Toyota matrix) AWD auto with 140k for 4k which was high, but not stupid like that camry was.

Now I'm seeing even better, like a '11 edge AWD v6 from a dealer with 100k for less than that 99 camry . I'm not even looking and I see better deals

True. The labor and equipment to turn the trees into firewood is the kicker though.

Every now and then I'll search for firewood on Craigslist just for a laugh. People are always trying to sell straight up garbage. Even when they offer it for free it's still garbage.

I've gotten 3 really good scores on CL Free over the course of about 3 years. They were few and far between compared to the ones that were either crap wood, too far away, or poor access. Some I passed over because I just got the sense from the ad that something wasn't quite right.

The ads I really like are the ones for free wood in the form of standing live trees, you even get to clean it up, all for FREE!

There have been several like that around here. They usually get reposted multiple times
