Rising Gas Prices & Bar Oil

Me? Of course!

 

The Husqvarna X guard has gone up a stupid amount. I liked using it until it hit $20 gal.
If I can save a hundred by hoarding today I’m going to do it. Should have started when most bar oil was below $10 gallon. Same with round, flat files, bars, chains and chainsaws.

 

I have a bunch of Xgard .
Just finished a gallon a short time ago and really liked it. I don't know what prices in retail stores is for it now.
Most recent purchase for me was a case at 12 each. Prior to that a few years back I paid 8 each for a case.
Between the Xguard and Echo brand I am good for a while.

 

Gas or electric you’ll always need bar oil. Depending on how you sharpen files will always be needed too. X guard went from 12-22. Tractor Supply may be at $24.

 

I've used Power Pistol in 10mm and 40 cal. Have never had a issue.

 

Grabbed 2 today at 8.99

 

I just checked the price of the last bar oil I got online for 6.99/gallon, because the cheapest around me is $30/gallon and it's jumped up to 9.99/gallon now. 3 bucks higher in just about 2 months.

I got the Black Max stuff, they sell at Walmart. It's way tackier than the crap I was getting from Napa.

Just in case there's others, out in the boonies with nothing reasonable close by.

Happened to spot bar oil in Walmart last week. $13.88 gallon. Some generic brand.

 

That certainly isn't a bargain.

 

I was really surprised when i saw the price.

 

Advanced Auto showing some Fram branded bar oil. Code: 2FEB worth 15% off making a gallon $12.75 after tax where I am. Code says it expires in 7 days.

 

Just checked and Rural King is still at 8.99 and Menards is 9.99 but with them you can get 11% rebate so a little cheaper.

 

TSC yesterday still $15.99/G.

I think we're sitting on 14 or 15G. Most of it picked up in '19 just before the plague hit. I was buying it at Ace for $9/G and found TSC for $7.4x, and went a little nuts (like 2 or 3 every time I went there for that summer). Since then, it's been 1 or 2 here and there to keep the supply topped of. It was $9.99 @ Runings around Christmas.

 

Just coming back from TSC. Did a double take when I saw the price and mumbled some unpleasant words as I walked away.

Needed 2cycle, paid $10.00 for 16 oz of TSC.

 

At least I'm not the only one to mumble obscenities at the store when i see new prices.

 

Ive been known to do the same. More so with the recent inflation prices!

 

It's crazy!! Not to derail this thread but the last thing i remember was a bag of Doritos. Over $5 and i swear the bag got smaller.

 

That's too funny. . . . . .I do a bit more than mumble.
No expletives, but the word 'sodomy' usually can be heard when I see prices for bar oil.
And Jeffrey, yes food prices get the same reaction.
Time to fire up the garden again.
