I bought an Epson printer a year ago on my son's recommendation. All was well until December when suddenly it will not print color. Warranty is good until 1/11/2023. I contacted them on 12/14. No answer from them so I made contact again. Finally received an answer and they gave me a list of things they wanted me to try and also the natural numbers, even though they stated it was under warranty until 1/11. I made contact again and they then sent me email telling me I would receive a call. No call received so I again made contact. Then they gave me a number to call. Robot on phone wants me to press a certain number. It does not work. I tried 3 times and gave up. Contacted again and this morning I received another email informing me it is out of warranty so it is all my problem. Wow. Talk about crooked tactics. Now I'm wondering what to do with this stupid company. Any ideas?
Does it print black and white? and not color or doesn't print at all? inkjet printers are a huge scam and epson is probably the worst offender. What I did was dump inkjets and went to laser.
Try to find the clean printer option on the printer. I had the same troubles....nothing would print at all. After running the clean cycle, it would begin to print; each time would be better than the previous. This is a different brand, not epson.
I HATE printers! I started out with an Epson and had great luck with it. When it finally died I have went through several HP's since...hate 'em, nothing but trouble from the time you open the box! Wife just told me the other night ours is not printing again...I REALLY want to use it for target practice! I need to look into that I guess...
We don't print that much around here so when last printer quit we decided to not replace it and use the local libraries printer. At 10 cents a copy and the printer headache is there problem.
Toner is pricey, the printer is an upfront hit. But no more cartridges drying out or ruined print heads. It has always printed whenever I needed it to, even after a year or longer of no use. Inkjet would never do that. ironically HP makes a decent laser printer.
I'm sorry! Dennis, maybe the print head on your color cartridge dried out? That used to happen when I didn't use color for a long time. I took our color cartridge out and used some tp or paper towel with rubbing alcohol on the metal thingy to get the dried ink off.
Are you watching the series "1923" ? Electricity in Billings MT is new, the make electricity then rent the only machines that can use electricity.
Oh no worries, if you're looking for a cool western series it might be on YT Otherwise you get my drift on e-
Getting back to the warranty. You have an email paper trail dating back to 12/14. Call back and if you get a rep on the phone demand a manager. Worth a try.
Paper trail will be proof. But it is actually getting someone to care. Not sure how you do that with all the shenanigans you've gone thru. I've had my HP Office Pro inkjet for since 2012. Don't use it much as printer, mostly to PDF documents. So rarely have to replace ink - but it isn't cheap when I do. The only problem I ever had was a couple of times a year it would lose connection to the wifi and be a PITA to get it to hook back up. Of course it always happened when I really needed to print a legal document. Kept thinking I ought to get a new printer, but couldn't justify the cost. Apparently the issue was the router itself wasn't playing nicely with the printer. I haven't had that problem in the 2.5 years I've had the latest router (a different brand than the previous one).
