What is this plate and where does it belong?

    I purchased a Buckstove 81 in November and I am loving it so far! While cleaning out ashes the other day, I found this 3"x6" metal plate on the bottom of the firebox (see pics). Any ideas as to where it's from and where it belongs? Is it safe for me to still have fires? Thanks much!
