Yeah, hoping 600 does it but just filled the tank first time since Sept and took 190. Looking like 600 should be more than enough-I hope.

I do keep it low, but actually warmer than I use to. Generally, 65-67 ish and down at night plus when away at work. The older I get, the warmer I want it.

Even with the stat up, its still colder in here than with the P68 heating from the basement-and its cold down there now :shiver:

Stove idling keeps the basement around 68ºF with just the radiant as the heat is mostly duct upstairs. So much warmer than when the oil furnace was in charge. About 6 degrees warmer with pellet heat. The best benefit with having the stove in the cellah! :D

I need to get the hybrid water heater vented outside and I think it will be warmer yet. Its like having a/c on while running the heat! But it luvs the pellet heat for making the hot water. Dropped my KW usuage down to less than 3 KW per day. Was at 3.8 KW before the pellet heater took over. So its a second plus. A third is likely that the hybrid isn't working as hard to make hot water too. Both are making it less damp down there as well!! Win, win and a Plus! The duct won't be too expensive and I can take it back off if need be to cool the basement in the summa time. :D

I'm considering doing a bench to play with electronics down there as the wife doesn't like the smell from my soldering stuff. Cool in the summa and cozy in the winta.

Sux, that you had to use the payout for something other than actual vacation - but the timing was good for helping out in other ways.

Yeah, between that and the medical bills. At least I had the $$ to buy the oil and its better than use it or lose it.

The selling of the company meant a complete reset to $0 on the health insurance deductibles after paying into that on the previous insurance. Sept 1 was new company, new insurance, reset deductibles that I fulfilled by mid December with my current issues only to reset to $0 again Jan 1 for the 4 tests coming up.

Talk about being frustrated with the timing of all of this :headbang:

Always. Was awake at 12:40 this morning - finally decided more sleep wasn't happening about 1:15 (had to do some banking, update my tax software and other things before jumping on the forum) - and here I am. Usually I'm up between 2 and 2:30. Sleeping in is 3:30. I think I actually slept until 4 one day between Christmas and New Year.s day.

Dam, now I feel bad sleeping in til 6:30 on the weekends :p

I used to have the "wake up and cant sleep" issue as well, but somehow I got past it over time. For me it was my mind not shutting off. Was still there a little, but have managed to put that to bed as well

    o_O

New norm is about 7:30-8:00, Sleeping in is about 10. The earlier I get up the sooner I need my nap! :D

No more up at 5:00 and to bed at 10:00 always hated that. Now I can stay up as long as I want! :p

Back in my days as a heavy haul trucker , especially during the summer (Construction ) I had to be at the yard to load by 5Am..... So roll out was usually 3 am......Time to grab some breakfast, pre-trip the rig and get to the yard (25 miles)

The early to rise habit has never left....In the sack at no later than 6 pm and up at 3 am.

Now it's my happy/quiet time to suck up a few cups of Joe and do my surfing......

Not a bad life......a few clicks off from everyone else though.....

My career had me working multiple jobs at the same time for over 35 years. I would work nights 12A-8A at one job then shoot home and change clothes to work my day job. Working nights really messes with your body and to this day, I rarely sleep through the night. Now retired and wouldn’t trade the way I did things. I wouldn’t have what I have without it. People would always ask me how I did it. I always said, jokingly, “I can sleep when I’m dead”. Now the mission is to stay alive long enough to enjoy it!!!

3rd shift was tough! Messed me up for many years. Made a chit load of people at the local dinner look at me goofy when I ordered a dinner for breakfast. "How the heck can you eat pasta at 8:00am" always made me chuckle as it was my dinner time.

To this day I'm still bassackwords because of the night shift! Pizza for breakfast is still one of my fav's!! :D
