Better picture of the yard before we started... 0106231036_HDR.jpg
Cut the big oak in 6' sections... 0106231204.jpg
The 'bota wasn't having any of the 6 'ers, so we made 3'ers... 0106231222_HDR.jpg
Then the guy asked if we had looked in the back yard...:bug:...
More trees down...red oak, water oak, pine... :startled: 0106231243.jpg

I've never cut any sweet gum. Does it not burn very well?

No sir. Just loaded the smaller stuff on his trailer to haul off. He has to clean the yard up.

Yes sir, the very bottom section probably has something in it. I'll use an old chain on it.

    Great info.

I don't run across too many in my area or at least I've not noticed them. Thanks for the info. Almost sounds similar to Sycamore.

It is. Not quite as hard to split, but close.

So are you getting paid for this? Or is this helping a friend out and you get firewood in the process? Seems like A TON of work for firewood? Or are you hauling/selling logs to offset the work and expense of this firewood?

We haven't hauled any limbs for him yet, if we do, it will be $$. It was easy access to the front yard, and that was some very nice oak that we will sell firewood from. Helping him out some too.

This was the 2nd load from the big oak we hauled Friday. It was odd sizes that the guy had cut. I had promised a friend that heats with wood that we would bring him a load earlier, got really busy in Nov and Dec, so we hauled this load to him. He is always helps other folks, donates a lot of his time building handicap ramps for folks in need. Just passing the blessings along
