Cut a little oak this weekend, had a nice red oak that was pretty good size that I shared with my buddy and then 3 small, dry, dead standing oaks, one of which was a white oak. Got it split and stacked too. Not all that much, but every bit helps.. And it feels good to get something done.. Moved some of my driest wood under cover to be burned this year. Won't be long now....

Your right, every little bit helps. Its amazing how much wood you can accumulate with a little scrounge here and a little scrounge there. Lookin good!
I got some more oak today too.....around two cord! From that monster oak I cut down this weekend. Most of it in big 24-30" rounds, makes for nice square splits! Your stash is looking good, Fanatic! I'm getting excited for burning season!!
Scotty, That is a lot of nice looking wood you have there! I like to split them square when their big enough also... Here's a couple more...
I like squaring off as many of those big straight rounds as I can......all of those squared off pieces makes cross-stitching the ends of the stacks a piece of cake!!
Thanks. I like to remind my wife that they are not toys, but work implements. Scotty, Those ends are impressive. If I didn't know you and saw your stacks for the first time, I would be asking you about those ends. It's a dead give away for someone who knows what they are doing with firewood and someone who has a hoarding problem to boot....

Nice work Fan, I'll be testing one of our Oak splits for moisture content in the middle of the month, its been stacked for 4 years.
You must be running out of room.... You have been too productive this year! I'll be watching for pics of your new stacking area and stacks this fall. It will be interesting to see how the inside wood compares to the outside. I'm thinking inside is the way to go.... I'll be curious to hear how your wood varies in drying. You have a lot of different species, locations and stacking going on. Your results will be interesting to see.
I'll have my stacks up off the ground with top cover. I'll bet they'll do about as well as the wood in the shed, tho there's better airflow and a little more sun hitting the shed. Not so sure about being productive on my wood stuff this summer... Cooler air usually moves this ole bear's azz a little more so...
Awesome seasoning stacks F1 Nice dry wood rack. What's the table between the to dry row under cover for ? Wood processing is starting to get going now, lots of new , great wood processing pictures. Hard for me to envision you guys cutting in the 80° & above temps. I'd melt . OK Scotty: Awesome , primo wood there to be split in "near perfect 4" x 4" s" Your "uglies " are straighter than my cross stack ends .
