What does a true Hoarder do when all his kids are 20 something and he( or she) has no grandkids on Christmas Morning.... stack some of the wood that was split before the storm
Word for word and photo this could be me, lololololol! And there's nothing I'd rather be doing. Merry Christmas!
The mrs told me I was getting too antsy because the high winds of last couple of days kept me from working outside. If I don't get my fix in I get irritable. Got to do something outside not necessarily firewood but something everyday
This early 60s man may get the tractor and saws out and cut on tops mid day. No one here but the wife and I and we are content.
Thats funny. You could at least have a Santa hat on??? At least it wasnt a boatload of snow. I got an order for bundles and will be putting those together later. Just her and i today with no plans.
Between having the flu and no real plans I will try to get a couple hours in outside today. Need to pick up sticks and branches after the wind we had. now 11 AM and we just had breakfast. That is way out of wack time wise for me!
I passed up a couple smaller scrounges yesterday and today. One was Ash, and I couldn't see what the other was (it was not BL). Neither would have been more than 1/4 cord or thereabouts. But I saw them. Kinda liking getting those other pesky chores out of the way.
Ill take hoarding over pesky chores or pesky GF's anyday! Funny that once you get spoiled by big scores, one doesnt bother with the small ones. I drive by a few that i havent bothered with.
That is true. Most of these things are things I want to get done, and either wait for rainy days, or winter to complete. You're 100% on about big scores though. I guess if I had time, I mighta gone for one or both scores. But I also have pasture to work on clearing, and they already have trees down for me to take. OTOH, it's those smaller half load scores that keep everything moving between the big ones. And bring a sense of completion because they are NOT drawn out over weeks and weeks. I'm looking forward to hitting scores hard in the new year, until the ground is thawed. Then it's retaining wall time. Looking at Rammed Earth (IIRC), using tires filled with sand and going from there. That will be as much if not more exercise than wooding.
I did some wood related activities early in the day on Christmas Eve and am about to go out again today but Christmas Day is a do absolutely nothing (except spend time with family) day for me.
