Hi FarmerJ. I am glad you are here to share your adventures. We did a lot of pheasant and waterfowl hunting around Mountain Lake going back to the late 70s through 2015. What a beautiful area with fantastic hunting opportunities.

Our family friend with the farm has since passed away, but I have still have all the field sport memories, as well as the fond memories of staying with them at the farm.

Our son was a Red Bull medic with his last deployment to North Camp in Sinai, Egypt. Are you familiar with this mission by any chance?

I retired from North Dakota guard in December 2008. Been a gray area retiree since then. Haven’t had a thing to do with the guard other than hauling the odd piece of military equipment now and then.

The section of woods from the Quonset to the road as I pan left will mostly be taken out and cleaned up. This is labeled as V4 in the original overhead picture.

the stuff on the right I want to leave as it’s the property line. It does seriously need to be cleaned up though. There’s a 3 strand barbed wire fence that needs to come out too.

the area where the silo is where I want to put split wood storage.

I had a college roommate from the Litchfield area back in the mid 60's. He died of leukemia. I think of him often.
Where you are going is not far from where one of our sons live now.
Last couple of days most of the roads down there have been closed.

We found the place because my daughter just got hired in mountain lake public schools as a teacher.

she was describing the place and I asked her for the owner’s contact info…

the rest is history. We closed 11/7/22.
