Sort of. Its like a machete, cleaver, hatchet tool. Perfect for removing loose bark, light machete work, removing vines from logs. Very handy. Versatile Tool
Even to PU a cardboard box, my hands will slip off. Everyone laughs at me that i always need my gloves on!
Sad thing was the last time i talked with her was two years ago right after Christmas as she passed away on new years day. I was cutting up an oak blowover. Here's that thread. Over the River and Through the Woods!
Just finished that thread, thanks for sharing! I know it's a year later but my condolences. That's tough one.
Got the rest of the chestnut oak out this morning. 462 made short work of it. Halved easily with the X25. Found some smaller standing dead oaks and a beech or two for a future trip.
You get the "you suck award" from me today. lol. Looks like some real nice stuff. Hopefully I get fine a nice score or 2 after Christmas. I lost track on my 3 year plan.
Holding off for now. Found a couple smaller standing dead red oaks with no bark, plus a small dead white oak. Bit farther in, but will be ready for next year. I may take a beech or two since i havent had any in a couple years (beech that is) I staged the chestnut oak for splitting. Set a couple half cord racks today and once ground freezes good i can move the splits there. Wanna split directly onto PU and move in back to the racks. PITA but what i do for multi year wood. Once a couple racks empty in front ill go back for more. Half cord of splits and a pile of rounds waiting there already.
No, didn't get time yet. Too busy working on the honey do list as the wife's Christmas present. Then it will be deer and small game hunting until mid January. I still have the guys contact, so maybe spring if I can't find anything close by.
Unloaded at storage yesterday. Couldnt get over how great it smelled. Wish i scored more of this. Maybe my new favorite firewood smell.
Agreed but you should smell a 16 cord pile of fresh split apple! And burning it is just as awesome. Burn times are .
