-1/76 burning a load of tulip poplar in the fireview. Going to switch over to oak and hickory tonight. Wind is howling blowing powdery snow all over.

    Complaining about weather men/women: :deadhorse:

As am I. I have a huge silver maple that would wallop our house. W/ 50mph gusts, I'm not sure what could be done till they subsided. :( Hate to cut it down, we rely heavily on it for shade.

Winds now kicking up here in Mechanicsburg PA.

-7 and -35 wind chill. The wind is absolutely brutal here. House is toasty warm. Went out to the boiler and it is still half full from yesterday afternoon's load. I was expecting to burn a lot more especially since the garage is calling for heat.

-12 this morning but no wind at the house. The wind map shows it to be around 20mph but we are a bit sheltered. When it gets cold like this, we are forced to run the oil furnace to help keep the house warm. Warmer temps are coming next week so we won't have to rely on the furnace as much.

I have 2 huge pine trees in front of our house. When they start swaying I get a little nervous. It takes a big wind to make them move. Also have a large dawn redwood that I keep an eye on that's next to the house. I have a love/hate relationship with that one. Beautiful and kind of unique, but the stinking needles go everywhere when they drop.

I'll look on the bright side. It's warming up already. It was -9 before, and now only -7°.

Ash and honey locust in the quadrafire it was 65 in the stove room earlier. Reloaded the stove with the ash and locust and not it's 70° in the stove room. 25mph near constant winds, and those gusts up to 50mph are making it look like snow squalls, but it's sunny and no snow.

Ok. I'll stop procrastinating and get bundled up to clear the driveway. Even though it'll probably just blow the snow right back onto it. randy-christmas-story-snowsuit.jpg

Sitting at -37 C this morning which would be close to the same in F I imagine. The gang of three (wood stove, oven, furnace) pulling for a hard launch this morning to warm up quick:D so it's hit 74 F in a hurry.

Yep, I'm just gonna wait till she's done blowing. Be like pizzing in the wind or wiping before you poop, it just wouldn't make sense here.

You know it's cold when you have to break the ice on your dog's heated water bowl. [IMG]
