Let there be light!

I saw this light at lowes a few weeks ago and figured why not give it a shot for $30. I've always just used either a headlamp or the worklight on the ranger when getting wood from the shed but so far this thing has worked great! I like that I can have one light aimed into the shed and the other two aimed wherever else I need them. It's certainly not as bright as a hardwired light but it'll get the job done until I run a dedicated line back to the shed. (Which happens to be project
#357 on the list )

 

My sister bought me a similar light about 5 years ago. I didn’t think it would last. Still working good as I type this. I’m impressed. I wish she had bought me about 4. They were much cheaper back then.

 

I usually stay away from anything "as seen on tv" but honestly didn't see too many other options that were solar and motion. Hopefully it lasts

 

Nice! Handy with the sun going down so early. No wires or batteries. Hopefully it lasts for you.

 

I was just thinking tonight while I was loading up my tote and using my cell phone that I need a light. (my headlamp took a nose dive out of tree stand this fall) Glad you posted Smokinpiney, I'm going to give one a try.

 

Yea it's pretty much dark by the time I get out to the shed on any weekday. And outback it's dark dark lol. Thankfully I only have to load up about once a week.

Dang it, I'm guessing it didn't survive the fall? . Been there done that. Dropped the mag to my slug gun after 20ft in a climber

 

Look at the bright side (pun intended...). At least he didn't take the fall with his headlamp!

Backwoods Savage Yea after dropping them twice I'd leave them there too! . I think the worst is if you drop your snacks

 

Wait a minute... how in tarnation does this power a light after dark if it does NOT have a battery? Can someone splain?

 

Solar charges some sort of "battery" inside???

 

I think they means it’s a sealed unit… Meaning you don’t have to replace batteries frequently. Probably someone needs to hit up their Chinese/English dictionary a little harder in their marketing dept. that or it’s powered by a tiny hamster on a tiny wheel and the solar panel is all show

 

My thoughts too. Has to be a "power storage unit" of some sort.

 

If it is storing electrical energy it has a battery/capacitor/hybrid of some sort. It may not be easily replaced when it is "worn out".

If these things are sealed shut to be waterproof it may be nearly impossible to replace whatever it has for a "battery".

 

I was headed for,, what does it's battery identify itself as?
