And that is utter bs because the rear handle version is for anyone to buy, it was the top handle 200t he was thinking of and even that they can’t get in trouble for selling you one. Stihl preferred it being sold to pros only for in tree used but all dealers I know will sell the 194t to anyone or a 201t if you want to part with 850$

Bought my 194 from an OPE dealer without issue. My 201 top handle came from a pawn shop.

When I was in the market to get a small limbing saw, I had no problem with my dealer selling me a Stihl 192T. Great little saw.

It is strange grabbing a small saw after running bigger ones. Took me a while to get used to my 170 (the short time i owned it)

I agree. I asked the guy like three times to verify as it baffled the mind. Kept telling him its the rear handle version I'm after. He said it didn't matter, because it was the same powerhead and it was in his words "so powerful for a little saw", I could get hurt. LMFAO. I looked at him and said I could "get hurt" using any saw". After several minutes of this, I decided I didn't want to spend the money that badly. I'm sure I could have went to the owner and complained, but I didn't deem it worthwhile.

I read somewhere that the 240's were discontinued in 2018 or 2019, so anything new still floating around is NOS. Me and the other 3 guys in the entire world that had very decent luck with them will survive.

It really is. It made me want to get one, honestly. I have a 355T, but sometimes it's a little underpowered, but sometimes I don't feel like using a big saw, if I only want to make a dozen cuts or so, on mid sized logs. Those are the times I'd like to have a little 50cc saw.

    No, the 240 was always a 240 far as I know. The 120, 130 or 135 MK1? or whatever are newer/different saws.

You’re correct on that I was think on it and it was the 120 that had the mark1 and mark2 and they are also a borderline being a complete waste of money also in my opinion. All the mechanics where my wife works all cringe when they see a newer small husky in for work.

I'm a member of the MS250 fan club. Thing has been around since the 80's as the 025 and it's still one of the best saws available for around $300. They wake right the heck up with a muffler mod too. :dremel: Dirt simple, parts are everywhere for them, as are economical replacements. Crazy you can still buy one new 30+ years after it was introduced. I don't even think the Homelight SuperXL/XL-12 went that long. Long live the 1123's!

That's the 18" bar, .325" chain on that one IIRC. Equivalent to a 16" on something like an 026 and bigger. But as you can see from me cutting into the backside a bit at the start of each cut, it's "fully involved".

PS. The flippy cap from an FS90R is a super secret squirrel mod that makes it run that good!

I have one and have been happy with it.
It did have a crank seal expire other than that still going.
I was debating on letting it go but have since changed my mind on that.

.325 / 16 inch bar is OK by me on that saw.

This is true. Everything has gone up significantly. Seems to really be since about January of 2021.

Dolmar had some great saws for the price. My 7900 in 09' was $650 brand new with a 20" B&C. My Stihl 460 several years earlier was over $800. Very comparable saws. The Dolmar actually has it beat it specs, but I think the Stihl is built better.

Dolmar was an old saw company and made good saws but they just never caught on as well as they needed too and makita decided electric is the future

That inflation thing.... $400 today is worth what $300 was 2-3 years ago. :zip:

I remember when they were $279.00.

Heres a used 251 for sale on CL. Used only once???
One top handle that intrigues me is an 009, if you even want to call it a top handle. The 009L is 41cc's and with an 012 top end (1120 series) put it at 45cc's. Imagine that much grunt in a little saw.
Almost bought an 009l last month.

    I have a 011 AVT. I think it's 41cc? I'm pretty sure my Echo cs-310 would out cut it.
