Ok guys here's a little sneak peek, here's a video I took the other night of a few really old Marx tin train sets I restored for my boys when they were wee little (they're 25 and 21 now), we took them into the workshop and got them back in tip-top shape again the other evening. I'll post some more pics and.vids tomorrow, I've just been busy....

    Enjoy!

So whose train was faster. The second one was catching up. Neat setup.

Here's a couple pics of this year's layout....

The tree is 11' tall this year, but Mrs. Overkill wanted a skinnier tree this year, it flares out wider at the bottom. I'll tell you one thing, around these parts it's very hard to find a nice tree this large anymore. We had a heck of a time. But in the end we found this one, and we like how it turned out.

Pictures of the antique sleigh that I got my wife years ago and she restored. She did an amazing job!

And I carved her the "presents" inside of the sleigh out of spruce logs.....she wants me to carve a bunch of those next year for her to make and sell....lol

Inflation is so bad this year and killed many of our disposal incomes and made things really tight this year. I think a lot of the tree places have downsized trees this year so the average price on their lot is lower. Despite the trend for a few decades to be taller ceilings and more open spaces that can fit the larger trees. For us it's not a problem as we have 8ft ceilings and by the time you put it in the stand you can't even buy an 8ft tall tree.

On a side note, when we were getting our tree I noticed a little area inside the barn and fell in love with it.....ended up chatting with the owner for almost an hour about saws. I WANT THAT OLD SCHOOL STIHL SIGN!! And the Contra Lightning he has there in the one pic! He paid 30 bucks for it at a local swap meet not too long ago, and when he got home he put some fresh gas in it, and it fired up the 3rd pull!!
