Funny story . Yesterday I had to go into the office for the 2nd or 3rd time this year. The desk I picked to set up my computer (the only desk set up fro my brand and that had two monitors). I realized it was an adjustable desk, so at 10:30 raised it to standing. Well, later I tried to bring it back down to sitting - that sucker wouldn't move at all. So, stood for the rest of the day
We took a quick drive yesterday and I noticed that I had better not wait until to day to plow. Man, was that ever a chore! The truck did all the work but I sure did feel sorry for it! If I don't end up with a tractor/front end snow blower setup, I had better move up to a 3/4 truck for plowing. Miserable time moving all that wet heavy chit around!
We’re a culture that glorifies busy. It’s a mantle we wear with pride. When someone asks us how we’re doing, we respond with a “I’m good, but crazy busy.” We seem to derive our value from asserting that we’re just so much busier than the next person. Our over packed, overwhelmed schedules actually give us a sense of pride, even a sense of identity. When the fast food chain Chick Fil A decided that it would stay closed on Sundays, everyone was shocked. Sunday was the day that fast food restaurants made the most money. Today, the company generates more revenue per restaurant than any other fast-food chain in the US, and it's only open six days a week. God honors us when we honor Him with our time. If you and I are too busy for prayer, then we are simply too busy. If we are too busy to read the Bible, then we are simply too busy. Maybe you and I should reorder our priorities so we make time for the things that are important and not merely what’s urgent. Lean In Gracious God, I marvel at the fact that You’re never too busy for me. Scripture says that Your ear is inclined toward me. Help me realize that being too busy to spend time with You actually depletes me and drains me of life and energy. Help me, Father, to always prioritize time with you. Caffeine in at 5:30. Dogs and boiler fed. Shower 6:00. Trip to gas station for generator gas at 6:20. (Snow is very wet and heavy.) Plowed snow from 6:40-7:30. Got ready for the workhouse. Wish I could have stayed home. Oh well. Wife and daughter both were able too. All schools closed. Good for them.
Day off today. Got a bunch of places to go this AM then hopefully this afternoon I can have some fun outside.
Got an early Christmas present today. Went to the kidney doctor for an eval. Was told my kidneys went up from 3b to 3a, so now they are functioning at 45% of normal. That is really good news to me. Of all presents, good health is one of the best. My congestive heart failure is stable so things are looking up for now. I'll take it!
They're healed! After 8 weeks pain was pretty much gone but they'd click and snap during certain movements, I just resigned to them always being that way, I was wrong, all better now Thanks for the cool truck pic Birthday picture
