Heck you cant beat that... $50 dollars and it runs... You came out smelling like a rose... Nice Grab amateur cutter ...
My grandson will end up running this machine. He's 9 and about the right height for now. Too short for me. It should work as a sawbuck though.
Unlike a lot of my "genius" ideas, this may work out well. FYI cycle time is 17.5 seconds. She ain't a rocket ship.
By the hub pattern and look, I think it's an early to mid 60's Mopar front axle, drum brakes on it. Think Valiant or Lancer maybe. You're sure right about dinner too.
Thanks, that's Emma. If you look way in the back under the stairs you'll see a graying muzzle, that's Jackson.
What kind of engine is on that? Also, it looks like the push plate is a little too narrow. Might want to make it a bit wider, but leave that wedge narrow. It will work great for elm then, or any other tougher to split wood.
5hp Briggs and scrap iron. That narrow pusher works really well for pinching those logs. I will have to decide if I want it wider or leave it. Machine isn't likely to split much wood. Too slow. Might just do duty as a saw buck.
You could make a wider pusher with a 'socket' that drops onto the narrow pusher. Then you could easily put it on and remove it when needed.
