Nice wood. Yeah it looks heavy. Can I ask why you don’t use the forks to take the logs out whole and cut them next to the splitter? Now I’m tired, I’m gonna take a nap.
Nothing makes your hands rougher than handling wood with your bare hands. I never had Hickory.Oak seems pretty heavy to me.
That box could just as easily be relegated to carrying chainsaws, fuel, oil, refreshments, bbq grill, lounge chair, electric blankets, pets, children, portable heaters, tobacco products, non tobacco products, assorted other sundries. For a full list contact the FHC union rep in your area.
Great ideas! The box is multi-purpose. Can go on the rear forks or front forks. Also has a removable swinging dump truck style tailgate.
I actually can haul my tools on the outside while it’s full of wood inside. The other side has holders for saws, and tongs
You are working way too hard considering you have forks on that tractor. You should be able to pick the logs right off the pile with the forks and then cut while they are waist high.
I agree I could have made it much easier on myself. A big part of it was to make an interesting video for viewers to watch. Show whats capable with some determination. Many of the viewers may have a tractor, but no loader/bucket/grapple. Almost all tractors have a three point hitch.
Green hickory and dry hickory are heavy for sure. It burns so good once properly seasoned that is well worth it though. Lots of coals and long burn times compared to ash. Good workout !!!!
I was saying to myself those hands don't look like a woodspliter's hands more like a stonemason's hands. So I was right.
I've done a lot of manual labor in my life. Mainly carpentry. I think my hands are a result of genetics and never wearing gloves.
