German owned US companies. Isn't that an oxymoron? I am not a history know it all, but didn't we enact something against Germany owning anything in the USA? Chaz and better half, good work!!!! That fridge outside in the barn. Might check, there is something about new ones that they don't circulate/operate in the cold (things defrost in it).
Can't answer that with any authority. However I find it more troubling that other countries buy up US farmland. Thanks JWinIndiana Only beer in the fridge, and it seemed to do alright last year. We have one on the front porch that will defrost anything, so the freezer portion goes unused in the colder weather. Usually just unplug it, and use for beer.
Here it is but three hours to go until the polls close here, but the negative TV adds continue. The phone calls are much more quiet. My junk mail should shift from political adds to more medicare adds and Christmas shopping sales.
Got a pic of the new logpile tonight. Not quite as many as I put up previously, but it'll keep me busy for a little while. If I can get more logs up before snow flies, I'll be happy. I'll have to cut logs on weekends, stack rounds so I can split at night after work.
Haven't had much luck on the garden. But grow some awesome weeds. Bucket grows have been our best success. ******** So, third rack done, just need to fill it now. Store downtown did a huge pumpkin carving for Veterans Day. It was on a donation basis for wounded vet's. Couldn't not drop a few in the donation can.
Well, once again it's been a bit since an update. Things are well here, not seeing any buck while hunting though. Did get some wood put up this week, and can split it at night after work. I also decided to bring in some of the smaller cuts that are mostly beech, with no, or little bark. If the weather holds well tomorrow, I'd like to replenish the "cut pile". Pics.. Pallet assembly for splitting.. A couple days ago.. The stack.. And inside.. So, I'd like to get more logs on the stack, but I'll bring it ALL inside if necessary.
I've been asked that a few times.. just yesterday the BIL said how shocked he was that I haven't installed our old stove in there yet. I'm just not sure where to install it that it won't "be in the way". I would likely run a straight chimney pipe, rather than one through the wall, as I'd still like to add another lean-to on the northern side.
Gotcha, my shop stove takes up a bunch of room. And class A ain’t cheap. But it sure makes for a good spot to consume adult beverages on a cold dark winter evening and makes working in the shop more enjoyable too.
A bit of a difference from 2 weeks ago.. Today.. Roughly 1/4 of the way to getting next year's wood done. Not any record breaking pace, but I'll be the tortoise, not the hare.
