It varies by area of state due to sunsetting at different times across state. 2022-Combined-Shooting-Hours.pdf

I was lucky to pick this one up for the freezer earlier. PA firearm season ended tonight. No buck for me.

Yes, on both accounts. I'm definitely a meat hunter. A successful season is a deer in the freezer. Every once and while a buck will make a mistake and I'll take it, but not my primary goal.

Exactly the same here. I won't necessarily kill does during bow unless the freezer is near empty. Come gun all bets are off.

Gramps said you can’t eat the antlers and the old bucks taste like a boot. Meat in the freezer is a success!

Yep! They all taste good as bacon rollups, honey barbecue snack sticks and garlic summer sausage(at least the ag fed deer here do). But if I had a choice between shooting one 140+" buck a year or having 3 does in the freezer, I'd pick the 3 does every time!

    That has my mouth watering.
Planning on some backstrap and "fish loin" Christmas eve.

So far we only have 1 deer in freezer. Gonna have to stretch it out for the year. :(

Good luck Ron T . We'll be giving it a half day on Sat. Cold front should have them on the move.

Too bad we can't sit with a gun tonight. Catch them moving before the front. Best of luck to you.

Got snow and cold here. Haven't seen any for a couple weeks. Maybe the ones I've seen around the place here, got taken??? They should be moving, but I'm sick and really shouldn't go out. 2nd gun season goes through Sunday the 18th.
