When I first heard them almost 20 years ago they blew me away. Never in a million years would I have thought Chris Cornell would’ve paired up with Tom Morello, and that they’d create such explosive music. The self titled album and Out of Exile kind of summed up my entire life back then. Getaway Car and I am the Highway became like an anthem to me for when I was moving down to Florida. What You Are became a metaphor for the end of this toxic relationship I had just gotten out of. Doesn’t Remind Me became about moving on and forgetting the past.

Cornell and Layne were amazing talents. We are lucky to have so much good music by them. Wish they were still around. There's a couple vids I've seen of people who have isolated just their vocal tracks. Epic!

    Awesome
The story behind that song is noteworthy too. Jerry Cantrell’s father fought in Vietnam and was given the nickname “rooster” by his brothers in arms. He didn’t talk much about his wartime experience. Jerry wrote that song for him. Evidently the first time they played it in a club with Jerry’s father present, he teared up upon hearing it.

Yep, heard that a while back. :handshake: I wanted to post one of his songs that wasn't so dark. Tear it down to just lyrics and even with music, there's so much depressive content you don't want to be in the wrong mindset taking it in.

Need a little serenity in your day. Give this a listen. Sometimes, slow/soft/and simple can be beautiful.

Are you on any other social media outlets (Insta or TT)? I'm seeing videos of the Pantera shows. And they are AWESOME!!!! I know it's not Pantera but it's still cool.

I am not, but I'll do some digging and try and check them out.
    I know it's only 1/2 of Pantera but it's still f'n Pantera!:dex:

Reminds me of places I used to drink at and much of the rest of the lyrics of the old (young) me.

Pandora. I have several "favorite stations" to chose from. I have the computer output wired to my Marantz stereo. Americana - Ricky Skaggs on now.

I'm gonna need to figure a way to run the feed out to the shop. Either wi-fi or hard wire...

I purchased one of these 4/2020 for use with my work stereo. I have a Yamaha multichannel receiver with 5 speakers throughout the shop. The "adapter" allows me to pump phone audio through with volume control. It's been pretty decent. THere's an occasional drop out but not too often.

RCA's go from that into receiver, then phone connects via BT.
Not sure if that would help you out or not. Figured it was worth a share...

I used Pandora for a while. Kinda got sick of the commercials so since we have Amazon Prime, I just signed up for the 3 month trial of their Unlimited music service. Holy wow! I'm sold after about 2 weeks with it. @$8 per month, I'll keep getting it. Sound Q is very good with most titles and outstanding on others.

I have a bunch of saved music files (which I have recorded "real time" with some free recording software) that can go on a thumb drive, but the shop stereo has no usb port. I will probably just bring a laptop out there, to play them. I pay Pandora ~$55/year for commercial free listening.
