Answered a cl ad for some cherry. Thought it might be a face or two, blurry pics. Turned out to be a few full cords of cherry. Sitting 2 summers, seems to be in good shape, biggest rounds read 25% the smaller branches are ready to burn. Looks like I have 15-16 complete and most of 16-17

Logs are in 8ft lengths and the pile is 50ft long 3-5 ft tall

Looks like a couple a face cords of ash on the side too. It is only 10 miles from the house as well.

Nice find. We don't get very many, if any listings for CL in this area. Enjoy the heat.

Yes, welcome to FHC. Can't get a much better score than that.
I wonder what happened that those folks waited two years to
unload it?? I would have thanked them 2x, once for the load itself
and again for partially seasoning it for you :)

Somebody must have contemplated having it milled and it never happened so you ended up with a bunch of firewood sitting in a stacked log row waiting to be processed?
    Was it free?
Welcome as well:thumbs:...we like pictures of stuff here;)

Yes, all free, I wont pay for wood with as much as we have around here, I can have it delivered for 100 per cord. thanks for the welcome, but I was aware of FHC when it started, I became upset with the other place about the same time. Just finally got around to signing up. Ill post pics tomorrow.

Looks great man. That's a lot of good looking wood. I'm never been a forum guy because people get so snarky and confrontational when they have anonymity but this place has next to none of that. Only forum of any kind that I use or have any interest in using.

Drvn4wood, Snarkiness on internet forums is a way of life, we evolve as a society and the snarkyness is something we must deal with or risk being left behind in the evolution.

    Yes the score looks good,thanks.

I moved and split another face cord, face and a half, this morning, and it looks like all of the wood over 4 inches is in the mid 20's. Not fully seasoned but most of the way there. I am planning on tenting up 2 cords in my homemade solar kilns in a nice sunny spot. If my experience holds they will be in the high teens by Thanksgiving. Regardless this isnt wood that I "need" for this year, although if this winter is like last, Ill be burning some of it come early spring. I have 4 Cord ready to go, and that is enough to just about get by without using the furnace. With this score Ill be able to burn freely all winter knowing that Ill have enough come spring, even if the spring wood isnt ideal.

Looks good. I'm surprised it is that dry seeing it under that spruce and with the fungus of some of it. Must get some good sun during part of the day. Tenting it like you do will definitely have it dry by Canada's thanksgiving if you get the sun.

I've used pieces of cherry for payment at my friends brewery/smoke house. Just have to bring a few days worth of smoke wood and I get a golden mug for the evening.
