A guy at work has one he'd sell cheap, says he can't seem to get it to idle right. I'm gong to check it out after work. Says it will idle off and die, only way he can keep it running is by turning the throttle screw in where th chain is spinning.

I'm thinking a carb kit is all it needs but I also noticed the saw has reeds......any chance that may be to blame too? Never had one of these 019/191's apart before. I'd like to have it for a backup climbing saw.......

019T is not the same as the 191T. 019 is the precursor to your 020T. Would be a good backup for sure, especially at that price.

Finding seasoned white oak and a good deal on a tree saw! You are living right. Karma must be playing catch up.

Be careful when re-assembling that reed to the carb. I cracked mine over torqueing it the first time I put mine back together. I was lucky to find a nice used one on ebay cheap, not too many 191T parts there.

Well, I bought the saw for 80 bucks.....well worth it, IMO, considering it's in very good condition. I fired it right up, I'm thinking it's just a carb kit away from being perfect.........
