Thanks. Even with the lightweight bar it's still tip heavy with the stock dogs....so these dogs do help it sit up without tilting onto the tip. Form and function!

I have not. I only have an Oregon 20" bar for the .375 saws. I have another supposedly lightweight bar on order from a different OPE dealer than i got this one from.

I think you just got the new version of the standard Rollmatic E bar buZZsaw BRAD based on this here pic. I think what you want is the Light P04 bar with the polymer core or if you want lightweight and the replaceable nose then the Light X.

I dislike the bng of the new bars. Dam it, I’m going to have to track down old light bars now.

Im sure there's plenty of NOS out there. I dont like the look of it either. So much so im debating on even using it. I saw one on ebay and the asking price was almost double what i paid.

Looks like something straight out of the 80's or early 90's...thought is was some NOS stuff from back in the day.....didn't realize these were new. Not a fan of how they look.

Talked to a guy I know and all the new bars are lighter than the last series, they slightly thinned the side rails and changed sprocket nose radius to lighten them up from 10-20% approximately

Still doesn't make sense why Stihl wouldn't list the weights on their own website though.

And I found this video that shows the 16" Rollmatic E weighed in at 694g vs 668 on the 15"Light 04. But that's kind of like comparing apples to oranges. Wish there was one of the same length bar.

Yall are talking about not liking the writing/graphics on the bar? Assuming that's the problem, I'm a bit surprised. It's not like you're wearing it, or driving around in it. If it was a good bar, and I got it for the same price or cheaper than other bars, i really don't care what it looks like. It's supposed to be buried in wood anyway!

I'm talking about the weight. :D

And the fact that Brad wanted a lightweight bar....but was sold the Light 04........which is actually the new version of the stock bar.....but it is indeed slightly lighter.....but Stihl doesn't list the weight of the bar on their site....

All I know is Stihl said they are slightly lighter in the 10-20% range give or take depending on length. You guys are going to make me go buy the 16” 3/8 light 04 we have locally just so I can compare the weights aren’t you

It’s the same reason I don’t want a shiny oversized clutch cover. I like classic stihl black and white bars, orange and white saws. I liked it when Husqvarnas were all orange. I’m a saw style luddite. Old school light bars will be on eBay for $1,000. 20yrs from now your old school mtronic stihl will need an old school light bar.
Flash disco bars are for battery saws.

You want old school you need silver bars with laser etched Stihl logo or orange letters with the lines below

If I had an 056 magnum II I’d be all over that bar. They’ve been black and white since I’ve been using saws.

I checked the thickness with a micrometer and the light 04 is thinner. I have no older 20" bar to compare it with. Decided to keep it.
