Probably a dumb question but is bucked but not split rounds calculated the same as split wood to determine cord volume? I am assuming it would be pretty close.
If you are asking... is a stacked 'rack' of rounds equal in marketable cord volume to the same size rack stacked with splits? I think the answer is, more or less, yes.
Yes, but in round form it's generally termed a "logger" cord. I generally figure a 20 cord load of logs to yield about 17-18 split stacked cord. I calculate about 150 cubic feet in rounds to equal a well stacked split cord. If I can confuse this issue any further please let me know.
Well said AC.. Yes it can get confusing to the general burning population. I always figure a half cord of stacked splits when i have a heaping PU full of stacked rounds.
